Terrorism and Religious Inclinations
Introduction
Terrorism has in the last two decades emerged as a thorny issue worldwide, as acts of terrorism has been continually linked to religious inclinations. Evidently, countries within the northern hemisphere have been the target of radical religious fanatics from countries in the Middle East, West and North Africa, and the Far East. Further, growing evidence have asserted that some more religious radical religious fanatics seem to be immigrants from those countries mentioned above.
Impacts f terrorism has vibrated through the entire globe with the western countries increasing their spending on security ten folds, particularly the United States, whose hegemony on world affairs has attracted the eerie of the radical religious fanatics. However, radical religious fanatics present their case of the necessity of terrorism so that the whole world could notice the consequence of continued Western subjugation of their domestic affairs. This paper explores this issue of contemporary terrorism throughout the global society.
Phobia towards a Religion
Terrorism is the offspring of religious radicalization. The events of September 11th 2001 in New York City fundamentally changed the perception of world security (Hampton, 19). Hitherto depicted in Hollywood movies, the events of that day changed world history, as a group of terrorists from a group referring to themselves as al-Qaida, hijacked a plane and thereafter used to plunge into the twin towers of the world trade center killing thousands in the wake.  Islam has borne the brunt from the society due to its link with terrorist and the religion in which the terrorist lay acclaim t their reign of terror. Consequently, the society has a phobia towards the religion, and the phobia has been referred to as Islamophobia, and it has reached unprecedented levels in the United States.
Terrorist seem to base their heinous activity on the teachings of prophet and that of the holy book of Quran. The justification, according to the teachings of the holy book is in complete contrast, the holy book asserts saving one life is similar to saving the whole humanity. Osama Bin Laden, the slain doyen of terror group, Al-Qaida, was thought of a man who was constantly on the book could not have not ignored this piece in the book.  Terror acts against western countries by Islamic fundamental terror groups has in the past been blamed on the United States occupation if Muslim lands and the United States supposed support to Israel’s occupation of (Palestine Katz, p 18).
Terror Acts and Jihad: The Difference
Terrorists from Islamic radical groups refer to themselves as freedom fighters, and they are fighting to liberate themselves from subjugation from the hegemony of the top industrial nations. Terrorists can hardly be referred to as freedom fighters as the latter have been known to lead revolutions that oppress the ordinary people. However, most people feel astounded to link several innocent deaths that are usually lost as a result of those terror attacks. Violence as propagated by the holy Quran is different from the violence meted on innocent life as propagated by the terrorists.
The Quran asserts that Jihad must be the war which is waged in the cause and struggle for Allah through a number verses, in fact, the rationale for Jihad was built on the war the Holy prophet waged on his fellow tribe people, the Quaresh who were polytheist and were resisting the influence of the prophets new religious ideologies. In fact, according to one of the revelations the prophet received from Allah he was instructed to inform the masses that violence should only be done as defense and not in offence. It is therefore not in doubt that terrorist are fulfilling other obligations that those were instructed by the holy prophet and the holy book.  Terrorist laid acclaim to an assertion that they are merely revenging to acts of subjugation of their land by the United States. It has been quoted severally that United States unwavering support for Israel in the Middle East has been irked these terror groups into action. https://facebook.com
Conclusion
Terrorism as a current world issue is not synonymous to Jihad propagated by the holy book. The terror groups butchering innocent civilians often used the book teachings to justify such heinous acts. Islam preaches peace and most Islamic scholars contend that this is the truth. Terrorism as a blot towards world peace and harmony has been condemned throughout the civilized world and the continued proliferation in arms has served to aid their advancement.  Terrorism and freedom fighting seem distance apart as the latter involves a group fighting for the betterment of the whole society, whist the latter fights to injure the society.
